Ok people. It's New Year's eve. Means, we will be only a few hours, ok... more than 24 hours, 'till 1 month from when Traplex started. Pre-camp day 1. Bamboo transportation. Don't you people miss all the fun we had in Traplex? All the new friends we've made!.

Well, now we have new friends to join us as we go into 2009. School reopens in 5 days if you don't count that day itself. ^-^ We finally get to meet our school friends. So, I'm half certain some of you scouts will be going for the countdown... AGAIN! Gurney will be packed like hell... so good luck to whoever that's going.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone. May you have an excellent 2009 and don't forget anyone you met in Traplex... *points at self* Joking! LOL

9 days since camp

It has been 9 days since camp ended... T.T I'm sure all of us miss each other... RIGHT? Well, the beach day was the last time we saw each other... 'till yesterday... for some of us. They had ANOTHER beach outing which some of us couldn't go. And another outing at Gurney today. We still don't have our Cobra patrol outing yet... Wei Sheng?!?!

The End Of It All

Its the end of Traplex 2008 but not the end of the bond we have.
We'll always have patrol and camp outings, right guys?

Final Results

Today is the last meeting for every patrol and unit. Tomorrow's pre-camp and in 4 days, the camp starts. I'm sure everyone very nervous and anxious.

So, after all the hardwork for the past 1 month or so, we finished quite a lot. Not only that, we got much closer to each other. So, in this post, we will show all of you what we did for the camp.

Selection Day

Today's selection day as everyone knows. We left my house at 8.30 a.m.. We reached there at 9 a.m.. There were a lot of people practicing their dance, speciality and sketch. We then checked in at 10 a.m..

Our patrol did speciality first, at number 4, then our sketch, number 11, and our dance lastly, number 15. We sang Just Stand Up for our speciality. We got selected, . Our sketch was about moral values which also got selected. ^^ Then, it was our turn to dance.

After everyone was done peforming, we formed a horse shoe in the field. The ATL, Peng Sheng, announced the results. Kangaa, Falcon, Unit 2, Unit 3 and our patrol was selected for the dance, Unit 2 and our patrol was selected for the sketch and the speciality.

Congratulations to Unit 2 for getting selected in all three dance, sketch and speciality and congratulations to all patrols too.

Hustle and Bustle

25 November 08, Tuesday

Our meeting today was all about campfire night, once again. Because tomorrow's selection day, we all rehearsed and rehearsed our dance, sketch and speciality until we got it right. We were all focused until Nelson screamed that a bee got hit by the fan. We all ran towards the bee. It was suffering so we put it out of its misery. (sorry bee!)

Then, an ant came up to the bee and started pulling it by its antena. The ant dragged the bee which was twice as big or maybe bigger than itself.

The ant and the bee. This is how hardworking all of us should be. The ant failed 5 times, but it kept trying and trying again. Go ANT!

We then continued with our performances. We practiced and practiced.

Then, we went up to my room to record our sketch. Everyone, Wei Sheng, Nicholas, Nelson, Bernice, Jessica, Melissa Sarah and Vanneeda slept over at my house. We slept at 3.30 a.m..

Campfire Night Meeting

We concetrated on our dance, sketch and speciality today. The meeting kicked off at my house when Wei Sheng, Nicholas, Nelson, Bernice, Jessica, Sarah, Melissa, May Lyn, Jing Wen, Shankari, Zara and Vanneeda arrived.

We practiced our guides dance, scouts dance and combine dance. Then, we practiced on our sketch. As usual, we were all fooling around, but we managed to finish everything in time.

Then, dinner time came. We all went to the food court near my house. The twins were fooling around in public which was quite humiliating. =.= When we were done eating our dinner, we came back to continue all our planning.

Another Tiresome Meeting

23 November 08, Sunday

Bern, Jess, Mel, May Lyn, Shankari, Jing Wen, Vann and me were present at todya's meeting. The scouts, Wei Sheng, Nelson and Nicholas were at their own meeting, doing the tower.

We started on our souviners, menu, mascot and our dance. Jing Wen, May Lyn and Shankari worked on the souviners while Bern, Vann and me worked on our mascot. Jess helped around. ^^ Then, we worked on our dance timing. We joked around a lot while adding more moves into the dance.

The meeting ended at 10.30 p.m.. Sorry this update has no pictures, but our hands were all full of starch and pelaka, so we couldn't take pictures. Once again, sorry. Check back for more updates WITH pictures!

Another Meeting!

Todays meeting only consisted of guides, Jess, Bern, Mel, May Lin, Jing Wen, Sarah and myself. Sarah and Jess worked on our logbook stand, Jing Wen and May Lin were painting the souvenirs, Bern, Mel and me worked on was our mascot. It was very tiresome for Jess, Bern, Mel and me because we didn't get much sleep last night.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHENG!!!!!!!!!!

We, just want to say HAPPY 14th BIRTHDAY to our dear PL, Mr. Lim Wei Sheng! After our meeting ended, Bern went to order Domino's for the party. I had to keep Wei Sheng from Danile's house. And it wasn't easy because he wanted to run there at 6.30. He kept questioning me if we can go. Wei Sheng isn't exactly the MOST patient guy you've ever met. ^^

Soon enough, Bern arrived to pick us up. We got into te backseats and blind foloded him. We guided him into Daniel's house. When we took off his blind fold, his friends sprayed cans of strings (i think) and confetti at him. He was OBVIOUSLY happy. You are... aren't you? o.0

We celebrated it like any normal party. Then we did the cake ceremony. All his friends had their hands over Sheng's head when he wanted to bite the candle off. He pulled back a few times. Then, someone just shoved his head into the cake. ^^ Sorry but I don't have the pictures.

It was akward for me because I am the only form 1 there. Bern was a little akward too. But, overall, the party was awesome. I hope all our effort touched you, Wei Sheng. Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A Short But Fun Meeting

This was our 6th continueous meeting since Sunday. We were all kind of tired, but the meeting was still full of bursting energy. We lingered for a while before we started on our jobs.

Then, Bern came. She brought her cooking for us to try. She used us as guinea pigs. She didn't even taste her food before she gave it to us. =.= We were all afraid we will get diarrhea. Of course, we didn't. ^^ The food was actually not as bad as we think it would be.

Meeting today was fun, funny and crazy. Our PL went all high and did crazy things. =.=" So, we started off with our menu, lantern and the tripod. We all did different things to quicken up the jobs.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL!!!

As you Falcons should know, today was Daniel's 14th birthday. We had a surprise "party" for him. We asked him to come to my house. He thought it was just a visit. Then, we blind-folded him and steered him to the living room. When we "unblinded" his eyes, we immediately sang a happy birthday song for him. Then, we ate the birthday cake. It was very delicious, and BIG... for me because Wei Sheng purposely cut a big piece for me. =.=" Then we asked him to make a speech.

Back to the meeting. We kicked the meeting off by starting on the menu and doing a lantern for some reason. Wei Sheng helped Bernice with the tripod. We continued painting our mascot after our lunch at the coffee shop which everyone sang happy birthday to Daniel! ^^

Another Tiresome Meeting

Another day, another meeting. Do I hear groans of protest? Well, too bad! xD

So yesterday (19 November 2008) we had another full day meeting.

The meeting started at 8am.

So we needed to mache the mascot so we got on it, starching the cobra.

After endless attempts of trying to stick the cobra on to the tower (which was our mascot), we failed. Well, you know what they say. Try try again. LOL.

In the end, Sarah and Vanneeda (me! xD) starched the cobra's neck.

After that, we noticed that our working area looked like a war zone.

Actually, war zones look better because they bomb with persicion. Ours is just..... (borrowed from Tessa's brother, Ivan)

So we had a massive clean up session.

After>

okay, not exactly the cleanest thing you've ever seen but hey, its remotely clean. ^^

Then at night, I mixed colours together (mainly 2 parts orange, 2 parts red, 1 part white and 1/2 part blue) to make brown for our mascot.

And they painted the mascot.

A Tired Day

Meeting started at 10 a.m. again. We continued with the papier-mâché and painting. All our hands were full all the time.

Now, we will teach you how to make candle in your very own candle.

Step 1 : Wash your mould

Step 2 : Dry your mould or else it will pop like a frying fish

Step 3 : Drop your candle into the hot pot. Wait for it to melt.

Step 4 : Drop your crayon to add colour into your wax.

Step 5 : Pour your finished wax into your mould. Wait for it to dry. Then remove it from the mould... and TAADAA!!!

A Freaking Long Day

It was a bright Monday morning, meeting started at 10 a.m.. We walked down to have our breakfast before starting our meeting.

This meeting consist of Wei Sheng, Nicholas, Nelson, Bernice, Jess, Melissa, Sarah, Zara, Vann and myself. We continued doing the souvenirs and did some papier-mâché.

A Whole Day's Work

We had a meeting today. It was supposed to start at 8 a.m. sharp, but as Malaysian people, the patrol was late. We had a total of 5 guides, Melissa, Zara, Jess, Bernice and me, and 1 scout, Wei Sheng.

We started off with the EXCOs souvenirs. We made quite a progress, but we will have to continue it tomorrow because we were fooling around a lot. ^^

We stopped for lunch at 2.30 p.m.. We forced Wei Sheng to eat all the left over sandwiches... and like my mum said, guys should eat more. LOL!

We went back to our work. We did our utensils. Some of us are NOT talented with carving chopsticks... a.k.a Bernice and me! So, more talented people like Wei Sheng took over. We sand papers the other things instead.

Soon, the Excos, Chammaine, Peng Sheng and came to see our progress which wasn't really much. ^^ Then, we walked down to mini markets to get flour for our starch. We needed to finish our mascot today... which was one of the little things we acomplished today.

Then, it was time for dinner. We had spaggethi which my aunty made for us. It was delicious if I may say so myself. ^^ Then, we had a break, lying in the garden, watching the "beautiful stars" or as Jess says, star bathing. While they were "star bathing", Jess and Bern were starching while I did the souvenirs. Soon, we joined the PL, Melissa and Zara in the garden. We chatted for a while then our PL had to go home, followed by Zara then Melissa.

Overall, we acomplished quite a lot... not as much as we should, but still we had a lot of fun, and that's what this camp is all about, right? Check back for more!

The Shortest Meeting

We had, as it was stated in the previous post, another meeting. It started at 8 a.m. and ended at 12 p.m.. We started on the blending again. While a few blended and papier-mâché, the others cleaned the condo although it was messed up again by a certain someone which I won't mention the name.

Last Banner Day

We had our last banner day last night. We finally finished touching-up ALL our banners. We were all quite happy to not touch pelaka again since many of us had pelaka stained on our shirts and shorts.

While some of us finished the banner, some papier-mâchéd our mascot. Sarah brought a mini blender which had no on/off switch. =.=

13 November 2008, Thursday

We had ANOTHER meeting last night at Jess' condo again. The meeting started at 8 p.m. as usual. When Zara, Vanneeda and I reached the condo, Jess, Bernice and Wei Sheng was already.

We kicked off the meeting by cleaning part of the condo. Then, all of us did the banner. We have to finish it as soon as possible. So, all of us contibuted. After a while, Zara, Vann and I went starching.

Mascot-ing & Banner-ing. =D

Well, it goes on and on. We started the banner and mascot some time ago but we can't seem to just complete it and keep it aside until camp is here. It all never seem to be finishing. *sighs So, yes. We continued with our banner, starching the mascot and all today.
It was unfortunate that Bernice and I got a bit of a flu few days back. And so we didn't attend to school together. *laughs, it's true =D The meeting was originally planned to be started off at 7 but our scouts who were meeting us had a change in their plans... SO, they came to my house to fetch Bernice and I to my condo at 3. At that time, there was PL Wei Sheng, Nicholas, and us two girls. Then, we started the sticky job with our mascot and some banner paintings. These photos show Bernice, Sheng starching and me, painting banner.

Later on, we wanted to take a break and so we went to the playground to have some fun. Nick and Sheng on a baby see-saw. *laughs And then Sheng ran over and joined me at the swings. Playful PL he is huh? =D

What? Yeah. Jungle walking. HAHA

Around 8p.m, the other guides came, including Vanneeda, Tessa, and Zara. Zara and Wei Sheng continued with the starching; Vanneeda, Tessa and I did the banner paintings, while Bernice walked back and forth helping with both.

Random Night

Since the camp is coming in less than a month, we had another meeting. This meeting was an all guides which consisted of Jessica, Melissa, Zara, Vanneeda and me. The meeting kicked off at 8.15 p.m.. We started with our dance. Zara didn't learn the full choreography yet, so Melissa and Jessica tought them while Vann and me practiced.

Soon after that, we moved on to discussing on our sketch and name tags. We all contributed our ideas. Some were usable, some were just no more than a joke. ^^

13th Meeting

10 November 08, Monday

This is our 13th meeting since the first one at PFS. We, Wei Sheng, Bernice, Jessica, Mei Lynn, Jing Wen, Shankari, Melissa, Zara, Vanneeda and me were all gathered at Jess' condo but not at the same time. In the morning, from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m., Mei Lynn, Jing Wen and Shankari were there while Wei Sheng, Melissa, Zara, Vanneeda and me arrived there at night, from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m.. Jessica and Bernice were at both sessions. ^^

Once we reached, we started on the banners (again) and papier-mâché. In the morning, Mei Lynn, Jing Wen and Shankari painted the banner, Jess and Bernice helped. At night, we were seperated into different rooms. Wei Sheng, Jess and Bernice were scrunching newspaper into balls while Vann and I were touching up a banner but Vann left after a while to complete another banner. Melissa and Zara were outside papier-mâché-ing, listening to music at the same time.

The scouts finished their exams this week. So, we had a combined meeting which consists of our PL, Wei Sheng, our PS, Melissa, Ryan, the twins, Nicholas and Nelson, Bernice, Sarah, and me. The meeting was held at Jessica's condo once again.

Nelson, Sarah, Bernice and me painted our banner (yes, again ^^), Wei Sheng was planning stuff while Melissa and Ryan were tying ropes.

Another Banner & Logbook Day!

Yes, we had another banner AND logbook day. Our meeting was held in Jessica's condominium. It was suppose to start at 10 a.m. but someone overslept, so the meeting had to start at 10.30 instead. Of course, Jess was there first. Then came me, Jing Wen, Bernice, Shankari, May Lynn and Sarah.

We immediately started on our banner(s). Bernice and I touched up some of the banner, while Shankari, Jing Wen and May Lynn painted the square banner. Jessica worked on the logbook this time, but she helped us a little with the banner.

Banner Day! =D

As the title says ^^ Banner Day!, so well, you can guess ... we concentrated on our banner. Well, me, Jessica, known in our patrol mostly as either, a meeting-organiser, or the messenger =.=, of course, told the guides (scouts preparing for exam! you go, boys! xD) a meeting will be held at my condo at 11.30a.m this morning (Saturday. 1st of November, 2008).

7 guides were present including me, and they are May Lyn, Shankari, Tessa, Jing Wen, Bernice, and Vanneeda. Several of them were punctual, hmm. very good =) , while others reached later with plausible reasons eg. yoga lesson, ballet class. *laughs. See, we got some talented people here. Meeting was officially started at 12noon (not that bad x]) and yeah, we started with our banner wooo! proud of it. HAHA.

As usual, the art geniuses, Shankari and Vanneeda took lead on the banner drawings and paintings.This is Bernice asking Shankari questions about how-to-paint-this-part-of-the banner

The meeting went fine today, infact, great, as we were having loads of fun; enjoying each others' companion and got closer to each other. Well, bear in mind, some of us hardly talked to each other before the camp meetings started. So, many thanks to Traplex =].
We drew, painted, coloured, and improved the banners together, and also with some helpful advices and suggestions from Wei Sheng, our PL and mananged to get things done. Overall, we are pretty happy with ourselves *grins
Vann and Tess had to attend squash lessons in the afternoon (SEE!) and so they left at 2.40p.m while Jing Wen, Shankari, and May Lyn left at 4p.m. Then, there was left Bernice and I. We continued painting the banners (according to the guidance Shankari gave us before she left).

After that, Bernice and I left together at 7. However, we did not clear the place up ... although it was really messy. Because ... there'll be a meeting tomorrow! (Sunday. 2nd November 2008) And there too will be updates in our blog. So, remember to pay us a visit again soon =D

Friday Night, 31 October 08'

We had a meeting at Jessica's house after school. The meeting started at 8.15 when Vanneeda and I arrived. Bernice and Sarah was already there when we reached. We then hopped into Jessica's father's car to Young Ones to get our logbook materials. After buying all the necessary materials, we headed back to Jessica's house. We immediately started on the logbook. While Bernice and Sarah was measuring the size of the logbook, Jessica was writing the logbook, Vanneeda was searching for fonts to use in the logbook and I was translating a passage from BM to English.

Early bird catches the worms =)

A small meeting was held on the morning of the 25th,October.3 scouts and 2 guides attended this meeting .We (wei sheng, nelson, nicholas & bernice) arrived at jessica's house at 8.30 a.m.
We get to start the Mascot making activities on Saturday because we did not get our hands on the starch on Friday.

The meeting ended at 11.30a.m. as the scouts have to get to their studies for their coming exam.

Deepavali; and we're working!

Happy Deepavali!!

While almost the whole of the nation went out eating muruku and nasi briyani, six of us Guides (Jess, Bernice, Tessa, Zara, Chin Ying and me; Vanneeda) went over to Jessica's apartment to get some work done.

The meeting officially started at 10.20 am.

We planned out the banner and did some work on the mascot.

At around 12pm, we got hungry. And let me note, there is NO food in that apartment. So I called my mum to bring over some money for us to order Dominos. She brought chicken rice for us (and chalk)! xP

So after lunch, we really got started on our projects.

And Chin Ying came soon after with the most beautiful pot of starch I have ever seen in my life! x3

Tessa, Bernice and I worked on the welcome banner(s) while

Jessica, Zara and Chin Ying worked on the mascot.

the mascot was done being mache-d and Zara and Tessa painted one of it while the other dries. Meanwhile, the rest helped with the first welcome banner and planning out the second.

soon enough, all helped with the banners.

after eight hours of almost non-stop working, we decided to take a break. At the playground!

after our light dinner, we went back to the banners again.

Night of nights.

On Friday night, we had a meeting.
9 guides and 3 scouts in total.

And our wonderful PS came very very early.

So so early.

So when almost everyone was there, we kick started the meetingdiscussion (0.o)

testing canvas(s).

First was auditions for the speciality.

Woohoo!

Then, we had a brainstorming session for ideas.To make it interesting, we were divided into two groups

First for The Ladies

Anti-males night. hmm. First and ONLY, for the ladies. It was a Wednesday night, 22nd October, after school; no rain, great weather ... and Sarah, Bernice, Melissa (aka Chin Ying), May Lyn, Shankari, Jing Wen and me, of course, attended the meeting at my house.

Lets see. Yeah, we started having our dance lessons! laughs* We had some issues taking up the steps at first but it went on o-kayy soon after. However, Sarah was SO blur that night, and so she was a little slower to catch the dance steps due to the lengthy trip from school to my house (As she claims). Believe it or not? xD

There, this is a picture of us dancing, well, it's just too bad sarah's blur face is covered. HAHA. joking. Pretty lame shot i know, we have our secret xD

As time went by, we got tired and took our rest. We sat down and discussed about the sketch we are going to have and also the speciality. This shows us quietly discussing ... Well, Mel and Bernice isn't here because they were the photographers xD

Meeting was dismissed at 10.30p.m as we had to go to school on the next day and so we were not allowed to stay up late. Everyone went home and, ... the updates for the next meeting ... is coming up!!

Start of Something New.

OUR FIRST COBRA MEETING! =D
Being held at McDonalds in Greenlane on the 10th of October, the meeting was a great success. Woo, great success! xD HAHA.

Well, most of the members showed up at the meeting, except for a few guides (Vaneeda, Zara and Tessa) who were busy then. All of us arrived by 12.30p.m as planned and we discussed about the mascot, logbook, sketch, name tags, etc. It was all a little awkward at first, as the guides have just met the scouts once in the PFS combined meeting and vice versa. Things warmed up soon after awhile and everyone contributed their brilliant opinions and ideas; ... the meeting went really well! =D We enjoyed ourselves alot and we got to know each other better. And i finally spotted the tiny differences between the twins Nick and Nelson!! laughs* At 1.30p.m, the meeting was dismissed, the guides went to school while the scouts went home, obviously.

PFS Combined Meeting

I know the meeting was held ages ago.
But I figured it was essential since that was the first time our patrol every got together. =)

On the 5th of October 2008 (which was the last day of the school holidays, I might add), Penang Free School was abuzz with scouts, guides and rangers from multiple schools.
After we were divided into our respective patrols (for us, as you can see, is the amazing Cobra patrol), we chose a table to sit down.
During our so-called ice breaking session, we got to know our members better. Awkward silences were rare as we got along great.
After our PL and PS got back to us with the list of competitions, we started discussing where and when the meetings will be held and who does what.
And obviously, I got the job of maintaining the blog.
During the final horseshoe, the EXCOs introduced themselves and advice was given.
And at 12pm, the meeting ended and we all went home.

I know, I know. Its short. Very short. But the real meetings will be longer, hopefully?
